WORK BEFORE GLORY♞
Hi I'm Christine. I've been riding for 5 years and have shown on the A/B circuit. I reside in B.C Canada and hope to become a Grand Prix rider someday.

i would really like this horse if they didnt do the whole winglish thing.. :(

i really don’t understand the winglish comment.. i mean thats the first time i’ve heard that used but if it means western and english combined i mean i don’t get it.. if they’re in a hunter hack the pony actually has a really nice head set and the riders getting that nice long and low head set by having long reins with contact and im assuming squeezing her pony forward.. compared to the other ponies i see in the ring she would technically win the class..

Gonna jump on this.  For one, I loathe the term “head set” as to me, it indicates “false flexion.”  I would not let my students think this or teach it.  There is a more “correct” way for a hunter to carry themselves and for the riders to achieve it.  Never was a fan of the hands in the lap thing either as I would not allow my students to get in that habit either but you know, it is what it is and people with this mindset, will not change so therefor, we will continue to see it.  It actually drives the judges crazy but again, what do I know.  #don’tbothersendinghatemailasitwillbeignored…

i personally think the little dapple grey in the back looks better but just my opinion

she’s riding an English pony like she’s in a Western saddle.
It looks sloppy. Her hands are in her lap and spread on either side of the wither  pony is trotting around with it’s nose on the ground. Leg is far back.
I expect better riding from a beginner, if I am honest. If this is what wins a class then I can see why the American riders didn’t win anything in the Olympics.

Hi, yes it’s time for a western rider input. Her lower leg appears to a bit too far out, indicating the western lower form. Apart from that she has perfectly fine posture in the saddle, draw a line down from her ear and it’s fine except for the lower leg. Her hands are not in “english” form. She is probably doing that to get the pony’s face in properly. But, that is not a western flexion. The head is bent at the pole and the neck is curved instead of flat. Both riders behind her appear to be leaning forward, the dappled gray is obvious.
also who gives a fuck she’s having fun, and showing her pony. Obvs it’s not some olympic level show, and for shits sake it could just be a warm up ring. untwist your panties ladies.

This is the stupidest thing I’ve seen you people comment on in a long while. Leave the kid alone. You are not a judge and the only thing you have successfully done, ALL OF YOU, is create an ass out of yourselves. By portraying to all of the equestrian community on tumblr that you know everything, everyone assumes you don’t know shit. Come  at me with hate for this, I seriously don’t care.

“I expect better riding from a beginner”… Seriously? -_-

Hey guys, remember that time someone tried to give a horse away in a giveaway?

Yeah, gts

One time I forgot my boots so I rode in tall socks so

One time I forgot my socks and boots and rode in my moms 30 year old rebox tennis shoes that were 4 sizes too big

ME!! All the Fricking time!! Ive ridden in thongs before!

Do you mean flip flops because I would hope you don’t forget breeches or that would be really awkward riding with no pants on

^haha the comments. One time I forgot my half chaps and paddock boots and had to ride in just paddock boots that didn’t even fit me. My legs were SORE the day after
